I recently attended a Street Painting Festival which is a great way to promote artistic pursuits in your town! In this case it was free to enter, local associations donated money for the fun event, and anyone could participate. One of the main streets in town was closed and sectioned off into work areas for the two day affair. Each street artist was given a supply of pastel sticks to create a work of art on the pavement. There were food vendors, sales, bands playing, clowns and prizes. It was a great hit, and is now being planned as an annual event! This would be a great way to attract visitors to your town, and provide an affordable family oriented event...or as a fundraiser for a good cause. It could be held in a parking lot, on a street, or in a park. And the art work eventually disappears with no ill effects. It could be theme oriented, perhaps dealing with the environment, equality, or children's issues. This is a great way to get people of all ages involved in the arts and bring some creativity to your neighborhood!
Art is a dream for awakened minds, a work of imagination withdrawn
from ordinary life, dominated by the same forces that dominate a
dream and yet giving us a perspective on reality that we don't get
from any other approach to reality.
- Plato

Making Friends around the World
Above artwork titled "World Chldren's Day, Every Day" © by Rhonda L. Hall
I have found that Art and Photography online communities can be very supportive and inspiring, I have only recently begun exploring all of the resources that are available on the internet with artistic and creative pusuits. Already I have learned so much and had a wonderful time making new friends from many cultures. Crafters, Artists, Photographers, Poets, and writers alike provide welcome insights, ideas and mind opening, thought provoking revelations. They can also be generous with suggestions and recommendations for tips, tools, materials, processes and promotion. I am hoping that this meeting place will eventually bring together people of all persuasions from all the different corners of the internet and the world, sharing and expanding our creative lives and moments...
"Humanity spends a lifetime trying to find a voice - trying to be heard. Some voices lead, some follow, some murmur and are never understood. Some are nourished, some are malnourished… some are silent. Even strong voices soon pass, but their messages light up stars and constellations far beyond their dreams. A voice never knows when its message is a light which others will use to navigate their lives. Send out the best messages, for they may be shaping future generations."

How do you feel about your Creativity?
Above artwork titled "The Conductor" © by Rhonda L. Hall
I'd love to hear from you about what inspires you to be creative, and how your creativity carries over into your daily life? I've noticed that once you utilize your creative instincts in one area of your life that the skills soon infiltrate more and more areas, such as people skills, problem solving and even everyday small chores that would seem unrelated. I feel that living creatively brings more conscious thought into everything you do and reminds you of all the things that you have in your life to be thankful for.
The sorcery and charm of imagination, and the power it gives to the individual to transform his world into a new world of order and delight, makes it one of the most treasured of all human capacities.

The use of Creative Expression in your everyday Life
Above artwork titled "Star Rust" © by Rhonda L. Hall
I think there are two wells of creativity within each of us, one springs from your soul and fills your work with your own impassioned inspiration, the other is conjured up in your mind and is brought forth through ideas and exploration. The two together, can be magical.
I’ve always been pretty creative in anything I do. I tend to just think and react that way. So when it comes to dealing with other people or trying to get a job done, I automatically think of all the possibilities and try to come up with a combination that will accomplish what I've set out to do. It’s really a type of creative problem solving, it makes it easier to deal with all of life’s ups and downs. And somewhere along the path a touch of inspiration joins in and soon you are on your way…
I find myself encouraging others to use their creative powers, as well. Especially children – it’s amazing what the young mind and spirit can grasp, before it becomes stifled by rules and prejudices! I can’t imagine what life would be like if our creative instincts were so smothered that we just accepted everything at face value and never reached out to experience new horizons!
One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.
-Friedrich Nietzsche
