An Interview with RLHall by Teri Lee at http://www.redbubble.com/people/terilee
I interviewed Rhonda, RLHall ,as you know her. A fantastic artist and a wonderful woman…with really cute toes!!
How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life?
I think there are two wells of creativity within each of us, one springs from your soul and fills your work with your own impassioned inspiration, the other is conjured up in your mind and is brought forth through ideas and exploration. The two together, can be magical.
I’ve always been pretty creative in anything I do. I tend to just think and react that way. So when it comes to dealing with other people or trying to get a job done, I automatically think of all the possibilities and try to come up with a combination that will accomplish what I set out to do. It’s really a type of creative problem solving, it makes it easier to deal with all of life’s ups and downs. And somewhere along the path a touch of inspiration joins in and soon you are on your way…
I find myself encouraging others to use their creative powers, as well. Especially children – it’s amazing what the young mind and spirit can grasp, before it becomes stifled by rules and predjudices! I can’t imagine what life would be like if our creative instincts were so smothered that we just accepted everything at face value and never reached out to experience new horizons!
Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful.
When I first joined RedBubble, I was a little unsure of how I would fit in, it seemed to be just one big family, and I didn’t know anyone! And though I usually make a place for myself in any situation, I had never been involved in an online art community before. I think the very first person who really made me feel as if I belonged here was Mariam Muradian . Her words and artwork were so alive, and she just opened up her heart and poured forth such colorful encouragement that it just made me glow, and still does!
Then I must mention my first sale, how amazing does that feel?! And I only just found out that the wonderful person who anonymously thrilled me to my very core by actually buying one of my photos, was my, then newly found, friend linaji . She never fails to inspire me with her images and words, along with her caring ways …
Show & tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you.
pryereMetal Tree 2This is one of the first photos of John’s that I was amazed by, he was one of the first people that started commenting on my work when I came to RB. His talent, sense of humour and uncanny ability to find the most unique and interesting subjects is awesome. He has offered his help unselfishly, and has my utmost respect.
Joanne BradleyCircle of LifeJoanne has been one of the kindest and most supportive friends I’ve had here, her classy photos, and the ability to spot the most wonderful geometric shapes in nature is what drew me to her wonderful work. And this is my favorite from her portfolio. Her thoughtful and wonderfully written comments always brighten my day.
iCandorLost CityIt was hard to choose just one of Vasile’s pieces, they are all so creative and magical, though this is one of my favorites. His gifted work, and way with words is constantly touching my soul. He has been a wonderful influence on me and my aspirations.
Marion ChapmanEtching – Viewing reconstruction of Ground ZeroMarion’s prints are amazing to me, her detailed work makes me curious about the artform, and in awe of her ability. Her mages of ground zero touched my heart and her support has been much appreciated.
ginnymacRainforest RedGinny’s cheerful support and sense of humour touches everything she does. Her wonderful work is always interesting and diverse, her talents are many, but I am especially drawn to her colorful and intricate paintings.
